Doug Chambers has been involved in the spa and salon industry for more than twelve years. A business lawyer by training, he has been intimately involved in all phases of the industry, from start-up through operation and expansion of spas, salons, and product companies. He is currently co-owner of Blu Spas, an international spa design, consulting, and management company that is an industry leader in award-winning spas.

He has been a principal force in the creation of the spa and salon organization Yamaguchi Enterprises, Inc. Yamaguchi's locations include The Century Plaza Hotel-Century City, Los Angeles, California; La Quinta Resort & Club, La Quinta, California; La Costa Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California; and Ventura, California. Doug's experience in the industry includes pre-opening, including, feasibility studies, lease negotiations, planning, design and development of spas/salons; and operations, including financial planning, fiscal overview, employment matters, compensation schedules, litigation, marketing, advertising, public relations, and revenue planning. He has had primary responsibility for identifying, negotiating, and implementing expansion opportunities.

Doug has been key in the creation and advancement of product branding and has had principal responsibility for all phases of the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of an extensive line of hair, spa, and skin products. Chambers contributed as an advisor for Billy Yamaguchi Feng Shui Beauty (released 2004). He recently served as a creative consultant for Royal Caribbean Cruises. He was a recent panelist on the topic of spas as amenities for gaming and casino resorts at the Gaming and Casino Conference held in Atlantic City.

Doug lives in Los Angeles with his wife and his small herd of children.
