The Cool Dip Pool

Situated in the heart of Singapore's business district, the Amrita Spa at Rames City is one of the largest spas in Asia. In strict accordance with Singapore law, the facility was designed to accommodate men and women separately and avoid mixing genders. This urban facility features a design concept that looks to nature for inspiration. Using water elements, unique lighting, and a variety of finishes such as timber and stone, the three-story spa provides a welcome retreat from the outside world. The wet areas of the changing rooms feature cool dip pools, opposite, surrounded by lamps that create a low-level lighting effect and a warm, soothing glow. At a cost of approximately $22,000, the pools include cascading waterfalls that flow from the lighting columns encircling them. Other highlights of the wet areas include a series of Asian pools all with waterh1ll effects and timber trellis structures set on columns overhead. Especially noteworthy are the bubble lounge pools, above, rarely found in the States, which are likened to underwater bubble mats that deliver a sense of elevation to the body.
