Blu Spas, an international spa, salon, fitness and wellness design, consulting, and management company, was founded by principals Cary Collier and Doug Chambers in 1999. Cary and Doug recruited some of the best talent in spa consulting, design, project planning and operations, creating an experienced team capable of producing turn‐key spa business solutions.

Cary Collier – Principal
Cary Collier, a principal and the business | project planner for Blu Spas, has applied his distinctive design and spa operation expertise and experience primarily in hospitality for more than 300 spas in over 35 countries. Throughout his history of creating world-class spas around the globe, he has been recognized for delivering distinctive spa facilities and guest experiences.
A native Texan, Cary has been a health club owner and held positions as Managing Director, Director of Projects, and Spa Designer and Planner for spa projects around the world since 1984. He founded Blu Spas, Inc, and Collier | Collier Spas Inc.
Cary and his wife, Kim, are credited with pioneering the spa industry in Asia, and Cary has worked on spa projects for hotels ranging in size from 25 rooms to 3000 rooms. In addition, Cary was one of the founders of the ISPA Asia Pacific and served as VP on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board for Asian Spa Summits. He has been a speaker for Global Spa & Wellness Summits, ISPA (USA & Asia), Cornell University, Hotel Executive conferences. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Organic Spa Magazine. He has also served on the City Planning Board, Lakeshore Protection Board and has been on the Planning & Design and Budget & Oversight Boards for the new high school – Whitefish, Montana.
Cary has lived in Dallas, Aspen, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bali, Carmel and now resides with his wife and two girls in Whitefish, Montana.
Doug Chambers – Principal
Doug Chambers, a principal and co-founder of Blu Spas, Inc., has been involved in the wellness, spa, salon and fitness industries for more than twenty years. A business and real estate lawyer by training, he has been intimately involved in all phases of spas and salons, from planning and start-up through operation and expansion of spas, salons, and product companies.
Chambers has been a principal force in the development and expansion of the Yamaguchi spa and salon organization with locations in Southern California. Doug’s experience includes project planning, with special emphasis on feasibility analysis and concept development, and all phases of operations, including pre-opening, lease negotiations, financial planning, fiscal overview, employment matters, compensation schedules, litigation liaison, marketing, advertising, and public relations.
Doug has been key in the creation and advancement of product branding and has had principal responsibility for all phases of the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of an extensive line of hair, spa, and skin products. Chambers contributed as an advisor for Billy Yamaguchi Feng Shui Beauty (released 2004). He has served as a creative consultant for various brands and has been a speaker or panelist for spa conferences on topics including technical innovation for the spa industry (Global Spa Summit) and spas as amenities for gaming and casino resorts (Gaming and Casino Conference). Chambers has authored or contributed to several articles for spa and salon industry publications.
Doug lives in the Los Angeles area, poised for flight.
Kim Collier – Senior Consultant | Trainer | Educator
Kim brings over 25 years of expertise to Blu Spas. She is a founding partner in Collier & Collier Spas International, former Spa Director | Consultant for Four Seasons, Regent & Intercontinental, Founder of JAMU Organic Spa Rituals, USA Certified Massage Therapist & NCBTMB Instructor, Australian Trained Esthetician, and is currently working toward a Holistic Health Practitioner Certification.
Kim has worked as Spa Director, Consultant and/or Trainer | Educator in Hong Kong, Indonesia (Java, Sumatra, Bali, Lombok), Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Australia, Russia, Mexico, Canada, and around the USA. A partial listing of clients (past and present) have included Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Regent, Intercontinental, Trump, Destination Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt, and Joie de Vivre.
With a rich respect of natural healing and solid understanding of industry trends, Kim offers our clients newsworthy spa experiences, many of which have been featured in international publications and media.
Kim received the “Top 25 Trendsetter” award from Conde Nast Publications, and continues to speak and teach at selected venues each year. Her specialties include product development, treatment menus, training and education programs, all with the selection of the highest quality products and amenities, retail and wellness offerings, technical and service standards. Kim enjoys collaborations that enable spas to reach their highest human and financial potential.
A mother of two daughters and wife of Cary Collier, Kim enjoys traveling, as well as coming home to the outdoor playground of their mountain town of Whitefish, Montana.
Brian Lombardi – Project Consultant
Brian has worked with Blu Spas as a project consultant since early 2004 and has excelled in spa design through his firm grasp of function and technical services.
Though Brian’s prior ten year work experience was in management, he currently collaborates in the programming and design phases of Blu Spas’ design division, working with the architects and engineers of projects regarding the intricacies of spa design.
Brian has extensive experience working on Four Seasons projects and has been intimately involved in all phases of project planning for several Four Seasons projects worldwide.
Brian recently moved to Mexico to improve his Spanish and his cooking skills.
